Mason Neck Residents Donate Land to NVRPA: Parcel to be added to Pohick Bay Regional Park
FAIRFAX STATION, VA (June 2, 2009) - On Monday, June 1, 2009 longtime Mason Neck residents Gary and Charlotte Knipling finalized a deal to donate land to the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority (NVRPA). Independence Day Activities on the Streets of Fairfax: Day-Long Event includes Parade, Fireworks, History, and Firefighters
FAIRFAX, Va. — The City of Fairfax has planned a host of activities for July 4, including a parade in historic downtown Fairfax and music and fireworks at Fairfax High School.The 43rd annual Independence Day parade steps off at 10 a.m. from the intersection of Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) and Sager Avenue, rain or shine. The parade loops around downtown Fairfax, along Chain Bridge Road, Main Street, University Drive and Armstrong Street. More >>

FCPS Trade and Industrial Education Program Gets Under the Hood
When Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine arrived at South County Secondary School (SCSS) last month for a program marking a partnership between Volkswagen of America and Fairfax County Public Schools, he first took several unhurried minutes shaking hands and speaking with each of the students who had lined up to greet him. The students were, after all, the most important people there.
